Nominated for the Golden Boy award 2023

All the players that have the chance to become the Golden Boy of 2023 has now been selected by the Italian sport newspaper Tuttosport, that are the founders of the award.

The favourites to win

One of the players nominated are last years winner, the Barcelona player Gavi. Technically he could win the award this year again but no players have ever won the award two years straight, so it is unlikely that he will win it again. At the moment it is instead the Englishman Jude Bellingham, who recently joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala that are the favourites to win.

Players that can possibly challenge Bellingham and Musiala if they have a brilliant start of the next season are players like Brasilian Alejandro Garnacho, Frenchman Elye Wahi, German Florian Wirtz, Danish Rasmus Højlund and Dutch Xavi Simons. There are of course a bunch of other great promising players on the list that could win as well. If Bellingham gets a good start in Real Madrid it is hard to see any other winner than him though.

Countries and clubs with most nominated players

The country with most nominated players are France with 14 nominees, and a bit surprisingly on second place we find Denmark with 10 nominated players, and thirdly England with 8 players.

The club that have most talented players is the Austrian club RB Salzburg who has five players nominated, and shared second we find the Danish club FC Copenhagen and the Premier League club Brighton with four players each. This might of course change during this transfer window since many talented players from smaller clubs might be picked up by the bigger ones.
